Favorite Passage

I'm now editing the third title in my Revenir series, which I published in 2011 (sequels in 2011, 14, 15). [the first speaker is the MC, Cait's mother]

“You’ve turned into a beautiful woman,” she said. “When did that happen?”

I said, “March third, at two-thirty-three in the afternoon.”

“A mauve eyeshadow with the hint of a lilac liner would make your gorgeous eyes snap.”

My throat tightened and my eyes threatened to well. That had to be the most personal thing she had ever said to me.
